Are shielding amounts similar to that used in other imaging rooms?

Because of the high energy of the radioactive material used clinically in PET/CT, the shielding needs can be significantly greater than typical imaging rooms. This applies especially to the injection rooms. The structural load related to higher amounts of lead may also be a concern.

Do floor and ceilings need shielding?

If areas above and below the injection rooms are occupied, it is not unusual to need ceiling and floor shielding.
